Anti Pong support.

The paddle game for iPhone and iPad where you dodge the ball. Your paddle is made of bricks, and every ball that hits it knocks one out.

How to play

  1. Tap Play on the title screen, pick a mode, and choose whether to play the computer or a friend on the same device.
  2. Drag anywhere on your side of the screen to move your paddle. It moves with your finger, so your thumb never covers it.
  3. Don't get hit. Every ball that touches your paddle knocks out one of its bricks, and moving into a ball counts too.
  4. New balls start at the net, blinking, and an arrow shows which way they'll go. More balls join as the match goes on, and after a while they speed up.
  5. Whoever runs out of bricks first loses.

The modes

Classic is the game as it's always been. In Ghost, balls disappear between bounces. In Blackout, both paddles fade to an outline. Chaos has lots of balls and power-ups all the time. The computer plays on Easy, Normal, Hard or Expert.

Power-ups

They float out from the middle. Move your paddle into one to grab it.

  • Shield: a pane of glass in front of your paddle stops the next ball.
  • Mend: some of the bricks you've lost grow back.
  • Phase: balls pass right through you for a few seconds.
  • Slow: balls on your side slow down for a while.
  • Split: every ball heading for the other side splits in two.
  • Haste: balls heading for the other side speed up for a while.
  • Magnet: the other paddle pulls balls toward it for a while.
  • Blackout: the other side of the arena goes dark for a few seconds.

Questions

How do I move my paddle?

Drag anywhere on your side of the screen. The paddle moves with your finger rather than jumping to it, so your thumb never covers it. To change that, tap the gear button on the title screen to open Settings, and under Controls set Paddle control to Follow. Then the paddle goes straight to your finger.

Controls also has Sensitivity, Play on the right if you'd rather have your paddle on the right-hand side, and Reduce motion.

Can I use a game controller or a keyboard?

Yes. A game controller steers with its left stick or d-pad. When two of you play on one device, the first controller steers the left paddle and the second the right. On a keyboard, W and S move the left paddle and the arrow keys the right one. On your own, either set moves your paddle.

How do I sign in to Game Center?

Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad, tap Game Center and sign in with your Apple Account, then reopen Anti Pong. Game Center is optional: without it, everything plays the same except the leaderboard and the achievements.

How do I get tokens?

Every match pays tokens. A win pays more than a loss, and beating a harder computer pays more again. Spend them in the Garage on paint for your paddle, balls, trails and arenas. Everything there can be earned just by playing.

How do I restore my purchases?

Open Settings from the gear button on the title screen and tap Restore purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you bought with. That brings back Remove Ads on this device.

Token packs are used up when you buy them, so they can't be restored, and the tokens stay on the device where you bought them.

How do ads work, and what does Remove Ads do?

Anti Pong is free, and ads keep it that way. Between matches you'll sometimes see an ad, but never during a match, never in your first few, and never after a game with a friend on the same device.

Remove Ads is a one-time purchase, in the Garage under Get tokens. It turns the ads off for good.

I bought Anti Pong when it was a paid app. Do I have to buy Remove Ads?

No. If you bought Anti Pong before it was free, you won't see ads, with nothing to buy or restore, and a special paint for your paddle is waiting in your Garage: the original paint from the first version, with a gold pin. Settings shows a thank-you note under Purchases.

It goes by the Apple Account that first downloaded the game, so open it signed in with that account. Still seeing ads? Email me at support@chrislaunches.com and I'll sort it out.

How do I change my ad and privacy choices?

After a match, iOS asks once whether Anti Pong may track you across other companies' apps and websites. The game plays the same either way. To change your answer, open the Settings app and go to Privacy & Security, then Tracking.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Google's consent form appears when the game opens. Change your answer any time in the game's Settings, under Ad privacy options. That button only shows where the law requires the form. The privacy policy has the details.

Can I turn off the music?

Yes. Settings has separate switches for Music, Sound effects and Vibration.

I bought tokens and they didn't show up.

Check that you're online, then close Anti Pong completely (swipe it away in the app switcher) and open it again. If a purchase didn't finish, the App Store hands it to the game the next time it starts.

Still missing? Email me the date and the order ID from Apple's receipt email. You can also ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I report a bug?

Email support@chrislaunches.com and tell me what happened and what you expected. Include your device model, your iOS or iPadOS version and the game's version, which is at the bottom of its Settings. A screenshot or screen recording helps a lot.

Questions and bug reports go to support@chrislaunches.com. Your progress stays on your device. The privacy policy covers ads, Game Center, purchases and the anonymous counts the game sends.
